Application & Enrollment for '24-'25 School Year Now Open!

A Christian education rooted in the word of Christ providing a foundation of God and His word to prepare students for tomorrow. 

Philosophy

The mission of P.R.C.A. is to partner with families who value and understand the responsibility that God has commanded of them for the training and instruction provided to their children. P.R.C.A. firmly believes that students will benefit from a strong relationship with the parents and the consistent message of God's sovereignty across home, church, and school.

Pleasant Ridge Christian Academy will assist parents in their God given mandate: 

"Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord." - Ephesians 6:4

 

Likewise, we will assist students in their God given mandate:

"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. "Honor your father and mother so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth." - Ephesians 6:1-3

Expectations

  • A partnership with families through Christian education, the Christian church, and your Christian home.

  • A personalized academic experience based on the students unique God given talents and abilities.

  • An inviting and personal Christian environment with all students, faculty, and staff. 

  • A personalized experience where families are heard and students needs are prioritized to be met, if possible.

  • Families are expected to uphold our Mission, Vision, Purpose, and our Statement of Faith. 

  • Students are expected to work hard, each at their own level of aptitude.

  • Students are encouraged to develop relationships with adults and peers on campus that will nurture and grow their spiritual walks. 

  • Biblical principles will be the foundation of everything that is taught at P.R.C.A.

  • Families, students, faculty, and staff will uphold the standards of the school, respect others, behave admirably, and exhibit Christian character in all aspects of their lives.

  • We currently offer different Tuition Assistance opportunities to help offset costs, including an in-house scholarship.

  • P.R.C.A. is non-denominational, but answers to the Board of Directors who all are active members of Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. We encourage everyone from any Trinitarian denomination to come explore the like-minded community of believers we are pleased to serve.

Application

Get Started Here:


Step 1: 

  • TOUR

Take a group or private tour to see the facilities, meet the director, answer questions, and communicate applicable scholarship opportunities.

Step 2: 

  • APPLY

    • Applicants will need to submit the following information with their application:

      • Pastoral Reference (Preferred)

      • School Reference by Administrator OR​ School Recommendation by Teacher (Preferred)

      • Report Card

      • Most recent test scores from the previous school 

      • Grade Placement Testing (preferred) can be arranged upon request​

      • IEP, 504 plan and/or diagnostic testing

    • After completing each section of the Application, you will reach the Application Review screen​.

    • Review your Application and then click the Complete Review and Submit Application Button.

    • Next, you will click Submit Application and Pay the Application Fee.

    • Enter your payment information and click Submit.

    • After all applicable documents and test scores/results have been received and processed, the Director and/or Board of Directors will review the application. 

    • The applicant’s family will be notified within 10 business days upon receipt of application with one of the following:

      • Application Approval & Initial Acceptance --- Continue to Step 3

      • Application Denied

Step 3: 

  • Family Interview & Admission Decision 

    • Once you have received your initial acceptance letter, you will be contacted to set up an appointment for the mandatory family interview. During the interview families will be presented with the parental agreement and student agreement. 

    • Upon completion of the interview, families will be notified within 5 business days with one of the following:​

      • Acceptance --- Continue to Step 4

      • Acceptance and Placement in the Wait Pool

        • Wait Pool status is good for the 2024/25 school year until December 1, 2024.

      • Acceptance and Placement Deferred

      • The grade or section applied for is too full and the application will be placed on HOLD and reviewed as space becomes available.

      • Denied

      • We cannot meet your applicant’s needs and/or placement cannot be made at this time​

Step: 4 

  • Enrollment & Financial Completion

    • After acceptance and before financial completions parents will be required to submit the following information:

      • Birth certificate

      • Florida immunization form 680 or religious exemption form 681

      • Florida Health exam form 3040 or out of state health exam from within one (1) year  

    • After completing each section of the Enrollment Form, you will reach the Enrollment Review screen​

    • Review your Enrollment Form and then click the Complete Review and Submit Enrollment Button

    • You will be prompted at this time to set up your Billing Information and select a Payment Plan 

 

Students beginning school during the school year will have their tuition prorated. In most cases, a new student may begin school during the school year 48 hours after financial arrangements are complete.

P.R.C.A. is committed to a drug-free workplace.  All applicants and employees are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.  Illegal use or possession of drugs or alcohol may lead to denial of employment, termination and/or loss of workers’ compensation benefits.

In accordance with the Florida Ethics in Education Act, all employees of Pleasant Ridge Christian Academy have a duty to report all suspected or actual cases of child abuse, abandonment, or neglect; have immunity from liability if they report such cases in good faith and have a duty to comply with child protective investigations.  There is a legal penalty for not reporting suspected or alleged child abuse or alleged misconduct by instructional personnel or school administrators.  The Florida Abuse Hotline is 1.800.962.2873.  The P.R.C.A. contact is Mrs. Shalyn Tison. 

All instructional personnel, educational support employees, and school administrators have an obligation to report misconduct by instructional personnel, educational support employees, and school administrators which affects the health, safety, or welfare of a student. Examples of misconduct include obscene language, drug and alcohol use, disparaging comments, prejudice or bigotry, sexual innuendo, cheating or testing violations, physical aggression, and accepting or offering favors. Reports of misconduct of employees should be made to the Director, Shalyn Tison. Reports of misconduct committed by administrators should be made to the Director, Shalyn Tison. Legally sufficient allegations of misconduct by Florida-certified educators will be reported to the Office of Professional Practices Services. Policies and procedures for reporting misconduct by instructional personnel or school administrators which affect the health, safety, or welfare of a student are posted in the office of Pleasant Ridge Christian Academy.
